CLINICAL HYPNOSIS

ICBCH offers four levels of professional certification recognition in hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

The right level for you will depend upon your education and clinical practice experience.

All levels include an initial two-year ICBCH Membership and the corresponding Certification designation.
State Licensed professionals may also be eligible to receive approved CEU credits.

Certified Hypnotist (C.Ht.)

This title is reserved for associate members of the ICBCH and is the most basic level of recognition.

The requirements for associate membership and certification include completion of an ICBCH live or homestudy 20-hour certification program.

This level of certification is designed for those who are not licensed as mental health professionals, but have learned the 5-stages of the hypnotic process and use hypnosis primarily to enhance personal life goals and to help people achieve the physical and mental benefits of hypnosis.

To earn this certification, you must successfully complete a 20-hour ICBCH approved training course.

Certified Professional Hypnotist (C.P.H.)

This title is for those who intend to or are practicing hypnosis professionally but are otherwise unlicensed.

Requirements for this level of certification include completion of an approved basic 20-hour certification program, plus an additional 30 hours of ICBCH approved training (50-hours total).

Current Members of the ICBCH who are certified by another professional organization with substantially similar training requirements may apply for CPH status through reciprocity.

To earn this certification, you must successfully complete a 50-hours of ICBCH approved training coursework.

Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (C.C.H.)
and Certified Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCH/AC)

In most states the practice of "therapy" or use of the word "therapy" is legally reserved for those with licensure or certification in a mental health, medical or healing arts-related discipline.

The ICBCH will award status as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist only to those who are certified or licensed by a state or recognized national board in healthcare, medical, mental health professions, or another healing arts license or certification.

ICBCH members who complete an approved 20-hour homestudy or live certification and are licensed or certified by an acceptable organization or state licensing board will be designated as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.

ICBCH members who complete 50-hours homestudy or live certification and are licensed or certified by an acceptable organization or state licensing board will be designated as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist / Advanced Certification (CCH/AC).

Diplomate of the ICBCH

Diplomate status is reserved for those who are ICBCH certified as Clinical Hypnotherapists (CHT) or Professional Hypnotists (CPH) and complete 100 hours of hypnosis instruction through the ICBCH or another recognized provider.

OR

ICBCH Members with 200 clock hours of documented training in the science of clinical hypnosis AND 3 years of practical experience.

MEDICAL MEDITATION & STRESS MANAGEMENT

ICBCH offers a combined professional certification recognition in both medical meditation and stress management.

Certified Medical Meditation Consultant (C.M.M.C.)

or Certified Stress Management Consultant (C.S.M.C.)

Understand the fundamentals of research-proven meditational practice, from physical postures to breathwork and mantras, for reducing stress and aiding emotional and physical healing. Non-religious, outcome-based. Includes Autogenic Training (AT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) and more. Educational content plus hands-on physical demonstrations.

This program includes all coursework, evaluation of learning quiz documents, an initial two-year ICBCH Membership, and the corresponding Certification designations. (You may use either designation, or combine as C.M.M.S.M.C.)
State Licensed professionals may also be eligible to receive 30 approved CEU credits.

NLP & LIFE COACHING

ICBCH offers a combined professional certification recognition in both neuro-linguistic programming and life coaching.

Certified Practitioner of NLP Practitioner (C.P.N.L.P.)

or Certified Professional Life Coach (C.P.L.C.)

Learn the fundamentals of conversational hypnosis, changework approaches, life coaching strategies, and over 200 practical communication strategies for affecting client change. Develop rapport, alter states, mapping, modeling, trancework, more. You will learn how to hypnotize with this course, but the program does not offer a separate hypnosis certification.

This program includes all coursework, evaluation of learning quiz documents, an initial two-year ICBCH Membership, and the corresponding Certification designations. (You may use either designation, or combine as C.P.N.L.P.L.C.)
State Licensed professionals may also be eligible to receive 30 approved CEU credits.

ICBCH Specialty Certification Program Details

Approved Quality Content - Study with Confidence!

NOTE:  All coursework in these ICBCH Approved Certification programs has also been approved for professional continuing education CEU credit by most state and national mental health counseling, social work, chemical dependency, marriage and family and registered nursing Boards, such as NAADAC (National Association for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors), NBCC (National Board for Certified Counselors), and the California Board of Registered Nurses, through PeachTree Professional Education, Inc, a leader in professional continuing education since 1994.

IF you are a state licensed mental or behavioral health care or nursing professional, you may qualify for approved CEU credits, at no additional charge. For a complete listing of approved CEU states and disciplines, Click Here.

If you are not a state licensed professional, what this information means is simply that the instructor of these courses is a state licensed master's level psychotherapist with advanced education and training in mental health and behavioral sciences, and the course content has been subjected to rigorous educational standards by respected national counseling regulatory organizations, and found to meet or exceed their requirements for continuing education credit approval for other licensed professionals.

Your Instructor:  Richard K. Nongard is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer. Richard has trained in NLP, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy in Canada, Germany and the US, and has instructed other mental and behavioral health care professionals around the world on how to better help their clients, for over 20 years. He is a frequent speaker on Professional Ethics at the European Branch of the American Counseling Association (EB-ACA), and has taught hypnotherapy skills at the ACA (American Counseling Association)'s annual convention in Hawaii. You will enjoy Richard's light-hearted, dynamic educational style, which helps facilitate functional understanding and practical application of concepts and skills learning.

The Certification Process

• Once you order a homestudy certification program, you will be sent all course study materials, via US Post Office shipping.
• These homestudy hypnosis certification programs are self-paced. Most people can easily finish the requirements in under a week, but if obligations keep you away from your studies, you can feel free to take all the time you need to complete the program.
  
  
• In addition to the course materials, you will also receive the Evaluation of Learning Quiz.  This is the exam that you must pass in order to earn your certification (and CEUs, if applicable). Exams are either all True/False or T/F plus brief essay questions.
  > You must score at least 80% in order to pass and receive Certification. Most people who study the material carefully have no trouble passing the first time. Should you not pass, we will notify you, and you will have another chance to take the exam, without cost.
  
  
• You will also receive the Application for Certification that you must complete and return to us. This form discusses your education and training experience and helps determine your Certification credentialing level.
• All course materials are yours to keep for your professional library.
  
  
• Once you return and we receive your completed documentation, grade your Evaluation of Learning exam and review your Application for Certification, we will award your Certification credentials and send you a Certificate of Achievement (suitable for framing) as well as your ICBCH Membership Certificate (also suitable for framing.) If you qualify for CEU credits, we will also send those Certificates.
