I am asked this question a lot by both new hypnotists and those who have been in practice for quite a while. They just can’t seem to wrap their minds around the concept, or they are afraid to try different forms of demonstration, so I try to explain what hypnotic phenomena is really all about.

About Clinical Hypnosis Training for Stage and Street Hypnotists
Many stage hypnotists are only that - stage hypnotists - and they have never taken a clinical course in hypnosis. And many clinical hypnotists only practice clinical hypnosis, and may even shudder at the mere mention of hypnosis for entertainment purposes. And then there are the hypnotists who regularly practice both stage and street hypnosis.
Which one is a better hypnotist? That is not a question I can answer arbitrarily, because it’s simply not something to hold a contest over - they each have different goals, and, as with anything, so much is up to the individual person, their skills and personality.

What’s the difference between ‘Speed Trance’ and 'Stage' or ‘Street' Hypnosis - and why would I want to learn it?
For those of you ‘in the know’ this may seem like a silly question, but for those who aren’t the terms may be confusing, so it’s a valid learning question, and one I’ve answered dozens of times over the past 6 months or so from curious students.
“Stage Hypnosis” is an entertainment presentation; it’s performing a show, from start to finish - pre-talk and convincers, induction, deepening, skits and routines, post-hypnotic suggestions, awakening.... It’s an organized, structured, and generally pre-scheduled event for a specific audience. (Or at least it should be :)

Medical Meditation Instructor Gets a Taste of His Own Medicine
Richard Nongard has released his new book, "Medical Meditation" based on his own experiences as both a patient and meditation instructor.
For years Richard Nongard, LMFT/CCH taught other professionals how to use the techniques of meditation to help patients recover from surgery and disease. Last year he found himself on the other side of the fence, and used these same methods to speed healing and recovery from his own joint-fusion surgery for the treatment of arthritis. Nongard said, “The research shows those who learn simple meditation techniques recover faster from surgery” and added, “In my case, I practiced what I preached and according my foot surgeon, recovered weeks ahead of other patients who had the same type of surgery.” <MORE>

Understanding Primary Representational Systems
A Primary Representational System, or PRS, is essentially your personal learning style and situational response approach, meaning how you best absorb information and/or respond to an event. Understanding NLP Swish Patterns and Demonstration Exercise
People often “see” (think) uncomfortable or distressing mental pictures, which may increase stress and anxiety levels, and PTSD sufferers can actually become paralyzed (emotionally and physically) by the images in their head.
