The 30-hour "NLP Practitioner and Life Coach" consultant certification course of study will teach you the fundamentals of conversational hypnosis, trancework, changework, over 200 NLP communication strategy patterns and life coaching skills, designed to improve rapport, trust and communication, and to assist clients with change over various difficulties.

• The course content is intended to educate those who have very little or even no prior experience with NLP psychology communication and/or life coaching skills designed to help clients with altering unhealthy patterns of behavior and thinking, leading to personal satisfaction.
• Those with prior experience in NLP will also benefit by refining skills and techniques and learning the practical application strategies and life coach approaches offered in this program.
• This comprehensive training program is designed to provide you with valuable skills and help you learn how to actually implement NLP and life coach strategies into clinical practice, with confidence!

Your Instructor:  Richard K. Nongard is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, a master NLP practitioner and a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer. Richard has trained in psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, meditation and NLP in Canada, Germany and the US, and has instructed other mental and behavioral health care professionals around the world on how to better help their clients, for over 20 years. He is a frequent speaker on Professional Ethics at the European Branch of the American Counseling Association (EB-ACA), and has taught hypnotherapy skills at the ACA (American Counseling Association)'s annual convention in Hawaii. You will enjoy Richard's light-hearted, dynamic educational style, which helps facilitate functional understanding and practical application of concepts and skills learning.

The Certification Process

• Once you order, you will be sent all course study materials and instructions, via US Post Office shipping.
• This homestudy NLP and life coaching certification program is self-paced. Most people can easily finish the requirements in a few weeks, but if obligations keep you away from your studies, you can feel free to take all the time you need to complete the program.
  
  
• In addition to the course materials, you will also receive the Evaluation of Learning quiz form.  This is the True/False and brief essay question exam that you must pass in order to earn your certification (and CEUs, if applicable), as it documents your participation with the coursework.
  > You must score at least 80% in order to pass and receive Certification. Most people who study the material carefully have no trouble passing the first time. Should you not pass, we will notify you, and you will have another chance to take the exam, without cost.
  
  
• You will also receive the Application for Certification that you must complete and return to us. This form discusses your education and training experience and helps determine your Certification credentialing level.
• All course materials are yours to keep for your professional library.
  
  
• Once you return and we receive your completed documentation, grade your Evaluation of Learning exam and review your Application for Certification, we will award your Certification credentials and send you a Certificate of Achievement (suitable for framing) as well as your ICBCH Membership Certificate (also suitable for framing.) ICBCH Hypnosis Training FAQ

Are you associated with any particular NLP lineage or organization?

No.  In the past several decades, NLP training has become fractionalized and various training organizations have allied themselves with various training schools and instructors in various geographic regions. The ICBCH has been offering hypnotherapy training and certification for many years, independent of other organizations. Our goal is to create practitioners with independent values not allied with any particular brand of hypnosis or NLP.

You use textbooks by well known authors.  Have they endorsed your program?

No, and we have not sought the endorsement of any individuals, in order to maintain our independence. The texts were selected because they are excellent resources for learning, not because of any affiliation with the author or publisher. We purchase the books for our courses from traditional textbook dealers.

Do I need hypnosis certification or training before starting this course?

No.  This course presumes you have no previous hypnosis knowledge, yet those with hypnosis training will find it equally of value. NLP is a method of practical applications for impacting the subconscious mind. The founders of this modality studied the work of hypnotherapists and incorporated the most effective methods of subconscious communication into the study of NLP, and these ideas will be taught in this course.

Will I be able to hypnotize people when I complete this course?

Trance is a natural phenomena and NLP teaches how to use natural trance states to learn, problem-solve and impact lifelong patterns of behavior.  These methods will be taught in this class, so yes, you will be able to use conversational hypnosis and trancework skills. However, for those who wish to represent themselves as a professional hypnotist and focus solely on the use of hypnotherapy, we recommend more comprehensive training on the subject via our ICBCH basic Hypnosis Certification program.

Do you offer a Master Practitioner NLP course?

Our course is designed for those who want to practice NLP in professional settings. Other programs have created a "level" system of learning, in many cases simply to increase the fees prospective students pay.

We have been in the continuing education business since 1994, and our NLP courses are within the same price range as our other continuing education courses for practicing professionals. We feel no need to create a "level" system for learning, you are designated as a Professional NLP Practitioner and you will receive a very nice certificate.   Although we encourage further learning, seminars and training, you will find our course has been designed to provide the foundational and advance skills successful therapists actually use.

I'll really become BOTH a Life Coach and an NLP Practitioner?

Yes, upon completion of the coursework and returning the comprehensive Evaluation of Learning Quiz, you will become certified by the ICBCH as a "Certified Professional NLP Practitioner (CPNLP)  AND  a Certified Professional Life Coach (CPLC). < NOTE: You could use “CPNLPLC” but most prefer to market the two distinct credentials. >

Who are the Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) good for?

Through PeachTree Professional Education, Inc, this course offers 30 CEU credit hours for licensed or state certified mental health professionals - NBCC, NAADAC, social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, chemical dependency counselors, psychologists and nurses in most US states. • YES!  You also already possess the skills needed to practice neuro-linguistic communication patterns if you can follow directions and model, ask questions and listen.
  
  Therefore, it is entirely possible to complete a 30-hour homestudy program on the technical aspects of NLP and life coaching approaches, and then begin using the methods with your clients. 
  
  Becoming a master at neuro-linguistic psychology and coaching practices, like any other modality or method of helping people, is an ongoing educational process. This program is a starting point, one that will prepare you to embark on a new journey in healing, that will likely include many experiential and educational opportunities in the future.
  

  
  That said however, even though this class is a starting point, you will still achieve the ability to actually teach and implement practical communication and problem-solving practices for helping clients live life to their fullest potential possible.
  
  This intensive, accelerated class is based on the principles of effective learning and provides a great deal of knowledge in a short period of time.

• In most states the answer is no.  If you are a state or nationally licensed or certified mental health professional, you are already licensed to use modalities of treatment and coaching for health and wellness. 

• It is true that in most states individuals without licensure can practice life coaching with clients, however our courses are primarily designed for those with a counseling, social work, medical or other professional helping industry background.  

Do you certify those who are not mental health professionals?

• Yes. Many unlicensed professionals use NLP communication techniques and life coaching strategies for non-medical purposes and some hold unique expertise in their field that makes them more qualified to use the approaches for certain applications than a therapist. 

• One example comes from the fitness field: Personal fitness trainers and coaches know their clients and utilize strategies to assist them with personal health-related goals or in competitive situations. They are not doing therapy, but they are helping people, and they should have access to clinically solid training. More examples: Golf pros use the skills of coaching and NLP to assist players in developing focus and concentration. Massage therapists use techniques to help their clients achieve greater relaxation and physical healing. Teachers and educational consultants may use life coaching and neuro-linguistic psychology to help their clients relax and prepare for exams and improve memory recall during important testing situations.

• Furthermore, we recognize that when people who are interested in NLP and Life Coaching practices are not allowed access to quality training and certification programs, they will find programs that are less than quality to teach them what they want to know.

• The International Certification Board of Clinical Hypnotherapy is a professional association that recognizes hypnosis, NLP, life coaching and meditation certification programs. It was created to set standards of excellence, and to promote clinical hypnotherapy and related fields of social science. Its broadest goals are to insure quality training opportunities and help enhance the standing of clinical hypnotherapy. Its narrower focus is to assist individuals and organizations in being recognized for achieving a level of quality within the field of hypnotherapy. The ICBCH certified professional is governed by a professional Code of Ethics.
